General Programs - French
In our French as a Second Language (FSL) program, students 17 years old+ learn standard French usage. Students are also taught informal use of the language, with an emphasis on proper idiomatic and slang usage.
ALI offers three different levels of immersion programs to choose from (Regular, Intensive, and Super-Intensive), with each of the three programs divided into 8 learning levels. Students are placed into the levels according to their entrance interviews.
It’s your choice!
Including Oral Grammar and Conversation from the core classes, the Regular Program allows students to study French and still have enough time to enjoy "la vie Montréalaise".
In addition to the Oral Grammar and Conversation classes, this program offers one hour per day of Skills class where students can improve in all four linguistic areas (listening, reading, writing and speaking) through a variety of interactive exercises, games and activities inside and out of the classroom.
Get more talking time, improve your pronunciation, learn new idioms and expressions and receive maximum feedback. In addition to the 25-hour Intensive program, students receive 5 hours per week of extra classes.
In addition to our core classes, ALI offers more classes when you reach levels 5 and 6. We offer several elective classes at no additional cost that allow each student to choose the learning focus they desire.
