Our French language programs are composed of two parts: Core Classes and Skills Classes. These two parts are combined and personalized to each student's preferences, allowing them to choose from various areas of interest and different levels of immersion.

  Core Classes
For all students attending A.L.I., Core Classes are a mandatory component of any language program. These classes focus on the fundamentals of the language.
  • Oral Grammar
 • All Levels
Learn all important grammar structures. See and review new structures that take extra time to master. Practice talking using these structures to achieve greater ease and fluidity when you speak.
  • Conversation Class
 • All Levels

Participate in games, role-plays, discussions and debates using subject matters that are broad and varied. Do a lot of talking to improve fluency while enlarging vocabulary.

  Skills Classes
Skills Classes combine perfectly with our Core Classes to target and improve all the basic skills needed to achieve fluency.
  • Power Skills
  • All Levels
Build your vocabulary and work on pronunciation and comprehension with audio and video tapes. Improve your level in each of the following skills:
     • Speaking and Listening
     • Reading and Writing

   "Civilisation et culture québécoise"

One of our most exciting new classes is "Civilisation et culture québécoise". This course is a real opportunity to learn more about Québec’s fascinating culture and history. It will definitely be a wonderful complement to your French language studies. This daily class is offered to students in our French department, as an option, from Monday to Friday, from 3:30-4:30 pm. Each week, the course will be dedicated to one subject:

Week 1 : Spécificités de l'accent Québécois.
(The Quebec French Accent)
Week 2 : Les fondements du Québec.
(The history of Quebec)
Week 3 : La culture québécoise; art et société.
(Culture and the Arts in Quebec)
Week 4 : Politique et indépendance au Québec.
(Politics & the Spirit of Independance)

If you would like to completely demystify Québec, come to the "Civilisation et culture québécoise" class. It will be a pleasure to share our unique society with you!
