INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Our internship program is quickly becoming one of the most popular programs at A.L.I. for language training. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to advance in their career by combining English or French Intensive courses with practical work experience in a company. The program is designed to help students develop and master the language skills they need in order to function effectively in an English or French-speaking work environment.

Why do an Internship at A.L.I.?
The international work experience gained in our program will give students a competitive advantage over other candidates in job opportunities.
The language skills acquired during study and work period aid students to master the English or French language.
Students will stay up-to-date in business knowledge and skill sets and will complete challenging and rewarding job assignments.
As A.L.I. is located in Montreal, we can provide a unique bilingual experience. Students can choose between English courses followed by an English Internship or French courses followed by a French Internship.

We offer two different types of internships for our students:

1) Language Internship:

Language internship is the perfect opportunity for students to improve their English or French language skills while practicing in a Canadian work place. Students can work in a variety of different industries to increase their practical working experience.

2) Professional Internship:

The professional internship provides students the opportunity to apply their language skills to their field of education or previous work experience. Students are placed in a professional atmosphere enabling them to effectively work in French or English in office environment.

Finding an internship in a specific field can depend on several factors such as: the educational background of the candidates, their work experience, the interview process, as well as the seasonal highs and lows of certain industries.

Admission requirements

Students are required to take a minimum of 4 weeks of Intensive English or French courses and 8 weeks of internship. For a successful experience, students must attain Advanced levels in the chosen language of studies.

 
 
Documents required when submitting an
application for an Internship
1. Completed Online Application Form
2. Detailed Resume including education, experience and contact information for references that have direct knowledge of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and abilities. Reference checks may be completed on top scoring candidates
3. Cover letter explaining placement goals in the Internship program
 
 

Schedule

When students finish their language courses, they are placed in companies. Their Internship schedule is based on how the actual company works. It is generally from 9:00am to 5:00pm, 5 days per week.
